# The city of Machu Pichu

Archaeologists believe that this city was built as the residence of the Inca emperor Pacha Kuti. It is believed that this was a very strong city by 1450 AD, and it was abandoned after the arrival of the Spaniards in Peru about a hundred years later.

The hidden city of Machu Pichu was rediscovered on July 24, 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham. Petra in Jordan is another hidden city from the world. The city is believed to have been built by the Nebatians, an ancient South Arabian people.
